Rick And Morty: All Season 1 Episodes Ranked

6. Lawnmower Dog

Rick and Morty Jerry
Adult Swim

Rick and Morty first started to find itself with Lawnmower Dog. The voice acting and animation here is still far from the fully-developed, but it is an improvement compared to Pilot.

The second ever episode of Rick and Morty follows the pair as they invade the dreams of Morty's maths teacher. Meanwhile, the Smith family's dog gains the ability to speak through one of Rick's contraptions.

The unique allegories for which the show has earned acclaim, in the idea of Snuffles gaining intelligence and all dogs enslaving the human race, first saw light in this episode. Rick's and Morty's narrative strand is essentially a satire of Inception and its influence in popular culture. This satirical nature is also something that Rick and Morty would later become known for.

The episode also introduced the iconic character of Scary Terry, who is beloved by almost all Rick and Morty fans.

Many fans consider Lawnmower Dog one of the better things about Season 1, even if it's far from the absolute best.
