Rick And Morty: All Season 2 Episodes Ranked
3. A Rickle In Time
Arguably the most sci-fi episode of the season, A Rickle In Time juggles two subplots: one mind-boggling Rick, Morty and Summer adventure involving multiple theoretical timelines, and one sweet Jerry and Beth story. Both narrative threads are continued from the season 1 finale, Ricksy Business.
A fourth-dimensional alien called Shleemypants condemns the time-splitting trio and attempts to take them to time-prison, but Rick manages to defeat him. The character would return in season 4, however, and he is amusing to watch.
A side to Rick which had never before been seen is also revealed, as in what he believes to be his final moments he begins praying. Not to mention that he is prepared to sacrifice his life for Morty.
Of course, when Rick survives he returns to his usual self, but the few desperate moments of compassion and prayer have never been forgotten by fans. This combined with the Beth and Jerry subplot make a terrific character episode, and the sci-fi element prevents it from getting too soppy.
The introduction to the season leaves little to be desired, and it is a VERY close one between A Rickle In Time and the following two entries for the top spot.
