Rick And Morty: Every Season Four Episode Ranked Worst To Best
6. Promortyus
Rick and Morty's adventure through a strange alien world, fighting against Glorzo and the peace he preached, was a decent episode if unspectacular. It was the show going back to basics of the two titular characters on a weird journey through space, and was certainly more entertaining than much of this season.
The unnecessarily badass suit up was fun, Glory to Glorzo is a ridiculously catchy song, and there was enough mystery in their rescue of Summer to keep the story interesting for the full episode, despite no subplot to balance it with.h
Some of the jokes were particularly lazy however. A joke about Morty's teenage urges is all well and good, but got old pretty quickly after being revisited several times. Then there were the 9/11 and Pearl Harbour jokes, clearly only included for the sake of offending the audience.
This was again reminiscent of a post-prime Family Guy joke, where the only goal was to anger people. They weren't smart or funny, instead serving only to troll the viewers. Rick and Morty used to be better than that. Sure, boundaries have been tested before, but not as poorly as this.
