Morty Jr. is one of the most sympathetic characters in the series' canon. This is partly due to how he was birthed into on of the most toxic family dynamics in any animated comedy. While he does eventually go on a violent rampage, who can blame the guy? If you were forcibly made a member of a family as dysfunctional as the Smith's you'd be a little mad too.

It's not even so much the fact that he was made a member of the Smith family, but more so that he is Morty's child. Morty is still hardly more than just a horny teenager. Even more so, his own father is far from what one might call a role model. It's no surprise that Morty had no clue how to raise a kid, much less an alien monster man. Luckily for Morty Jr. he found a healthy outlet for all his rage and daddy issues. At least someone managed to escape from that family relatively unscathed.
