Ripper Street: 'Pure As The Driven' - 3 Things We Loved & 3 We Didn't

1. We Loved: Every Little Detail

Chinatown This may be treading old ground from season one here, but it had to be mentioned. Ripper Street is beautiful. The sets, costumes, props, locations €“ every little detail is flawless. From every extra wandering past in the background to the smallest flyer, pasted to a post, the world of Ripper Street is rich and exciting, with every new scene giving the audience even more to love. Add in the wonderfully rich camera work and some of the best slow-motion sequences in television and you're looking at one of the best-made shows on the box. And I haven't even gotten started on the music... I know I sound like an A-level film studies buff, but even the most disinterested viewer has to admit that Ripper Street is a cut above most crime dramas, and especially above most Victorian crime dramas. It doesn't wallow in it's authenticity by putting Victorian show-and-tell above the story. It just gets on and gives us bloody good television. Really, what's not to love? Anything you loved or didn't? Head down to the comments section and let us know.
