Riverdale Season 3 Finale: 8 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Survive The Night'
Ups...
8. The Visuals
There is just something so alluring about Riverdale's aesthetic that, no matter what actually happens in the show, it somehow manages to look like a visual masterpiece.
The finale took that to a whole new level as, instead of foggy streets and ridiculously colourful gardens, the show's core four found themselves trapped in a never-ending forest full of Gargoyle-themed threats and demonic iconography.
These unnerving visuals all complemented the horror movie-like vibe that the episode was going for, with the darkness creating the necessary feeling of isolation for Jughead, Archie, Veronica and Betty while the flaming torches cast an eerily beautiful flicker to ensure that the environment was never completely swallowed up by the night.
The result was a visually-pleasing adventure that offered something different from Riverdale's usual sights but one that was every bit as stunning.
