Riverdale Season 3 Finale: 8 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Survive The Night'
7. Jughead Tells All
With Betty, Archie, Jughead, and Veronica all around her Gothic dining table, Penelope Blossom invited both the Black Hood and the Gargoyle King to dinner (yep, that actually happened). But before she told her monstrous pet to reveal its true identity, she allowed the town's resident detective, Jughead, to have a stab at it.
In that moment, the Serpent King, cleverly pieced all of the clues together, as the show flashed back to each moment that he referred to in order to let us see the connections for ourselves. Seeing and hearing it all come together like this actually highlighted how well the narrative had been structured and, in doing so, it gave us a glimpse into how strong the season could have been had it not suffered on an episode-to-episode basis.
Of course, it was Jughead who solved the case. It had to be him. Without a doubt, Riverdale's answer to Hercule Poirot (not to mention its most interesting character), the teenage sleuth has been at the heart of this story since the very beginning, so only he could do its grand reveal justice - and that's exactly what he did.
It looks like he can now add yet another successfully-solved mystery to his portfolio.
