In a pretty effective moment at the end of the episode, Emma walks outside and receives a call from an unknown number. Here you finally get the modern version of the Ghostface voice, and it's as creepy as ever, although a little more normal sounding than in the films. The killer gives a bit of insight into what he's after: Emma and all these people try to make it appear that they're living perfect lives, but in reality they all have dark secrets that he's going to expose. Presumably then, Ghostface is going to be messing with these people all season, exposing their lies, getting them to turn on each other, and then of course brutally murdering them. For all the flaws of the episode and all the dumb relationship drama, the closing moments coupled with the preview for the rest of the season show that this series really does have a lot of promise.
