Scream Season 2 Review: 7 Ups & 6 Downs
2. Character Deaths Have Greater Impact
It's fair to say that there were very few deaths in Season 1 that really evoked a visceral, emotional impact from the viewer, in large part because so many of the characters were douchecanoes and it was hard to care when they bit the bullet (or rather, knife).
Luckily this aspect of the show fares better this time around, and there's one death in particular that's likely to stick with viewers because the character in question isn't a complete toolbag and the method of death is...disturbing to say the least.
That's just the most potent example, of course, but there are a few other death scenes throughout that, while lacking the imagination of Will's meeting with a thresher in Season 1, at least might invoke a little more sadness as was intended, rather than utter indifference.
