Scream Season 2 Review: 7 Ups & 6 Downs

Downs...6. There's Still Too Much Teen Melodrama

One of the big complaints about the first season was that it revelled way too much in sappy teen melodrama, rather than keeping it minimal as in the movies.

Sadly the relationship foibles of Brooke, Jake, Emma and Kieran are hugely prevalent again in Season 2, and most of it just feels like awkward padding to make the show appeal to a younger crowd.

It doesn't help that these loved-up interludes are normally backed up cheesy romantic pop music, and the sex scenes are as laughably tame as they could possibly get (but a ton of gore is apparently fine).

If the teen angst nonsense was cut out, each episode would probably run in at a more concise 30 minutes and be all the better for it.
