2. The Mask
The mask has been changed for the series, with early reports circulating that they didnt secure the rights to use Ghostface for the pilot episode. However, the producers have stated that they felt they couldnt use the original mask if they werent using any of the characters, because its so iconic and so tied into the films.
Blotevogel explained that the new mask theyve created, which still retains a similar look to the movie version, will have a bigger part to play in the story and the mystery of the killer:
Our mask had to have more meaning than just a scary disguise that the killer puts onWe get to learn why he was wearing it, and that it was a part of trying to fix what actually made him a monster, but the actually fact of wearing it makes him look like a monster.
