Bella Thorne will play Nina Patterson, whos admitted that she is fulfilling the Drew Barrymore role from the original film, in that shes the first victim we see murdered after being tormented over the phone by the killer. As we see from the trailer, though, its updated for 2015: the killer messages her, rather than calls, to alert her to the presence of a severed head. Of course the best way to do that really wouldve been Snapchat. The direct link to the films, outside of the name and serial killer premise, are being kept to a minimum. It was originally mooted that Wes Craven could be directing an episode, but that hasnt come to pass, though he is credited as an executive producer. Nor will Neve Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott in all four films, be making an appearance (unless theyre keeping that as a very big secret, but it seems unlikely). There will be easter eggs to the franchise, but overall the focus will be on making this its own world. The biggest link, of course, is that itll have a masked killer
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
