9. Paige

While JD loved to share every detail of his personal life with his friends, even the details he probably should have kept to himself, Dr. Cox couldn't have been any more different. His private life was kept very private, so much so that the first time his sister was ever mentioned was when she showed up at the hospital.

Right from the start, Paige annoyed the hell out of her brother by finishing off one of his trademark rants, but it wasn't until she offered his patients the power of prayer as a hope that he truly grew furious with her. This seemed to be why Cox hated seeing her so much, but it soon became clear that it wasn't her religious beliefs that he couldn't stomach.

In fact, it was nothing that she did at all, it was the fact that she reminded him of the awful childhood he worked so hard to forget.

As a character, Paige was funny, more than impressive when she beat Perry at HORSE, and was essentially just a religious, pleasant version of her brother. More than anything however, she allowed for an incredibly poignant, deep moment for Dr. Cox as he finally welcomed her into his life and the big moments of his son's.
