9. The Truth About Denise's Son
When Dr. Cox was made by Dr. Kelso to volunteer for 24 hours of community service, he decided to knock it out of the park with two back to back shifts as an EMT in an ambulance. However, his partner was one of the most annoying people in the entire world.
After immediately joking that he would murder her, Dr. Cox was talked at and sang at by Denise for 12 hours about words, the job, and most of all, her son. She wished they had more time together, but it was soon revealed actually just how heartbreaking her story was.
Denise pulled some strings to get on Cox's second shift, which was just too much for him to handle. He snapped, asking her what had happened in her life that made her so needy. As soon as he asked the question he found his answer.
When he was just ten years old, Davey tragically died in an accident. The EMTs were what inspired Denise to become one herself, and all of a sudden it was hard to feel anything but crippling sympathy for her. Even though she was incredibly annoying, Dr. Cox still took Jack to see her in one of his few moments of touching empathy.
