8. George's Death

Scrubs My Screw-Up

When it came to practicing medicine, John Dorian was exceptionally book smart. He once called himself Dr. Diagnosis because he was so talented, but he also had the personal side of things down. No one in Sacred Heart had a better bed side manner, or rapport building ability than JD.

This was on display like never before when, instead of going on their annual bromantic steak night, JD and Turk stayed at the hospital to get to know George and talk him through death, knowing that he wouldn't see through to the morning.

The old man had no family to come and talk to him, and when his doctors first tried to open him up, his defences went up. He said he wasn't scared of death, and told them that they didn't need to spend their night with him. However, these walls soon came crumbling down, as he embraced his fear.

On his last night on Earth, George was able to enjoy company and a beer, before drifting softly off to sleep never to wake again. It was an incredibly touching episode, and one that resonated long after the closing credits rolled.
