Scrubs: 10 Worst Characters Who Appeared After Season 1
5. Harvey Corman
First Appearance: Season 2 Episode 12 - My New Old Friend
Let's preface this entry by saying that Richard Kind is one of the most delightful actors around, and if you haven't seen his work, you've certainly heard his distinct nasally voice.
Done? Okay, Mr. Harvey Corman was one of the worst patients ever to walk through the doors of Sacred Heart. Aside from being an absurd hypochondriac, his adorability and integrity on screen started to whittle away once you ascertained how irritating he was. While it was fun to see (especially!) Dr. Cox get riled up by someone besides JD, there is this underlying reality that we might have all begrudgingly met a Harvey Corman at least once in our lives.
Perhaps what tips this guy over the edge from annoying in a fun way to disgraceful, was in season four when his obsessive behaviour focussed onto Turk and Carla's lives - and when Turk pushed back, Harvey Corman's delusion and vindictiveness manifested itself with a malpractice lawsuit.
The reveal that Harvey Corman was just a deluded individual was obvious from the jump and still rather funny, but by the time Carla sinks her teeth into Harvey to lay out how parasitic he actually was, we just wanted to see the back of Harvey once and for all.
Attempts at generating sympathy for Harvey fizzled away each time he returned to aggravate the doctors at Sacred Heart. There was strangely too much Richard Kind on screen. Something that is a rarity to declare.
