Scrubs: 10 Worst Characters Who Appeared After Season 1
4. Kim Briggs
First Appearance: Season 5 Episode 23 - My Urologist
It's necessary to preface this entry by saying that Elizabeth Banks is amazing! Regardless of what she's in from downright sloppy (Walk Of Shame) to the criminally underrated (Power Rangers), she might be one of the best elements on screen.
In a way, fans might have been rooting for Urologist Kim Briggs and JD to have a longer happily ever after. Despite an initially bumpy start as a self-involved surgeon (not unlike Turk), Kim and JD had great chemistry, and Elizabeth Banks bounced off other cast members naturally as if she were a long-time veteran of the show.
But then something happened...
Something that the show (and the character) never quite explained. Kim's accidental pregnancy by JD showed the lead finally learning to grow up and take mature steps in life. So it was a genuinely sad moment when Kim told JD she had miscarried the child shortly after moving away. Imagine audience' surprise, when a brief reunion showed Kim had not in fact miscarried and was most definitely carrying JD's baby.
From that point onwards, Kim became an unsure and off-putting character whom despite the series' attempts at redeeming and generating sympathy, couldn't make up for what she did. Kim went from being a well-received and rounded character, to a clingy, nothing character who got worse until her final episodes.
At least she got to shack up with hunky Shawn, which created some hilarious four-way scenes involving a sexually protective Elliott.
