9. Ted Buckland - Chris Parnell
Every workplace (and sitcom, for that matter) needs to have a somewhat pathetic character to chuck jokes at and make the leading characters' lives look better by comparison. That's what Ted brought to Scrubs, so recasting him is surprisingly important. Thankfully, there's a man who has made his name playing similar characters, albeit with less live-action.
Even if you're not familiar with Chris Parnell by looking at him, you likely still know him, either for being the voice of Cyril Figgis from Archer or Jerry Smith from Rick & Morty. His perfectly branded pathetic characters match his unique voice down to a T, but he's also proven to be hilarious outside of animation too.
His small roles in projects like Anchorman, 21 Jump Street and Brooklyn Nine-Nine show that he can jump onto the screen with ease and still capture that sense of passiveness you find in his voice. He'd bring a fascinating dynamic to the role of Ted by being goofy yet also quiet and sad.
