Dr Perry Cox is certainly one of the most versatile characters in the show. He needs to hit many beats, such as intimidation, sarcastic humour, goofiness and a severe tone. But, he also has the responsibility of carrying some of the show's most emotionally vulnerable moments, meaning you'd need someone with plenty of experience and credibility.
Now, this one might seem a little out of left field, but is very promising when you think about it. Bill Hader has been a massive name for a while now, as his time on SNL has shown just how hilarious and versatile he can be. Still, it's his time in Hollywood that has proven just how good he is.
Hader would undoubtedly get you laughing with his severe tone and over-the-top moments. Still, as can be seen in projects like Barry and The Skeleton Twins, he's no slouch when it comes to carrying profound and emotional subject matter, meaning he's more than ready to sign on as Dr Cox.
