Scrubs: How It Should Be Re-Cast In 2021
6. Janitor - Alan Ritchson
Well, this would unquestionably be a change of pace for the character but could also make for a hilarious dynamic.
The Janitor is a part of the show that really helped give it a unique stamp. He not only brought a sense of slapstick comedy to the series but also played an important role in showing the side of Sacred Heart that medical professionals didn't populate. Plus, who could ever forget his rivalry with JD?
Casting Alan Ritchson in this role would be different from what Neil Flynn did with it, as Ritchson is way more intimidating. However, he's hardly coming with no comedy experience, as the man has shown plenty of times that he's got great timing, characterisation and charm in sillier projects like Brooklyn Nine Nine or Blue Mountain State.
Watching a tall and intimidating man like Ritchson picking on JD and slapping him with scathing, sarcastic humour would be entertaining for days, and he'd add believability to their relationship, which would be fun to see.
