Sex Education Season 3: 12 Questions That Must Be Answered
8. Can Eric And Adam Commit To Each Other?
In season 1, it turned out Adam bullied Eric because he liked him. Not a great trope to include, but the series redeemed itself eventually. Adam envied Eric for being openly gay and having a loving relationship with his father – things that Adam didn’t have.
The two begun a secret romance, but Eric realised he didn’t want to hide. He told Adam: “I’ve had to work real hard to love myself and I won’t go back to hiding things about me again.” To make things worse, Adam’s father Mr. Groff also sent him to military school.
This season, Adam built up the courage to announce to everyone, during the school play, that he wants to hold Eric’s hand. He also told Ola that he’s bisexual.
While Eric and Rahim had previously entered a relationship, Eric seemed to choose Adam at the end. Hopefully season 3 will explore bisexuality further, but will Adam and Eric stay in a relationship?
We don’t need another will-they-won’t-they scenario, nor a negative representation of bisexuality. Hopefully Adam will come a strong representation of male bisexuality.
