She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode One Review - 7 Ups & 3 Downs
7. Up - It's Very Connected To The Wider MCU
With every new MCU project, it always has to tell its own story, but it is an absolute necessity that it fits into the wider universe as well. Everything is connected, everything is a small piece of a much larger puzzle, and it all has to work together.
In recent months, Marvel Studios has released Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight on Disney+, neither of which felt particularly connected to the MCU. In the former, Kamala at least had an obsession with Carol Danvers and the Avengers, but in the latter there was next to nothing.
She-Hulk has already put a stop to this 2022 Disney+ trend. There were references to Captain America, Iron Man, Sakaar (which could potentially be a set-up for Hulk’s son joining the franchise in the future), Natasha, Ultron, and of course, the Blip.
This wasn’t a project like Infinity War or Endgame where you have to essentially be well-versed in the entire MCU to get what’s going on. Instead, there were just a lot of nods to the previous 14 years and there was a lot for fans to enjoy from it.
