Sherlock: 10 Crazy Twists That Would Turn The Show Upside Down

9. Sherlock Poisoned Moriarty

Let's just assume for a second that Jim Moriarty really is dead, and that the end of Series 3 was just another villain using his image. Let's also assume that Sherlock didn't tell us the whole truth over how he faked his death... John asked Sherlock if Moriarty had touched anything when he visited Baker Street; Sherlock replied no. Just an apple. But that's not true, as he also offered him a cup of tea. If he'd have poisoned the tea, the line, "I am you," has more prominence; he asked Moriarty to look into his eyes, see his overly-dilated pupils, and realise that he's terminally ill. Moriarty then realised, knowing it was the tea - they're geniuses after all - and killed himself. But how did Sherlock fake the faking? He asked for Molly's help, didn't he? It's a wonderful theory, spiked only by its outlandishness. It's something that no one's really considered, and should it be true, we'd see Sherlock as a murderer long before 'His Last Vow'. It's a hell of a twist, but it's really too elaborate, surely?
