Sherlock: 10 Crazy Twists That Would Turn The Show Upside Down

2. Kitty Riley Is Moriarty

What if Rich Brook was real? What if he really did die, and that the Moriarty who's coming back is actually the real Moriarty? What if that person, is Kitty Riley, the journalist who concocted the Rich Brook story? It would certainly please those who disliked Andrew Scott's mad portrayal. Firstly, Riley's flat is full of paintings, which is puts her in a better position to know about the Van Buurin Supernova; she also had the words "Make Believe" on her wall. Rich Brook (as we'll call him for distinction) wore a fox pin during the Crown Jewels trial; there's a fairytale called The Wolf and The Fox, which states, "The wolf had the fox with him, and whatsoever the wolf wished, that the fox was compelled to do, for he was the weaker." Is Kitty the wolf? And didn't the Moriarty in 'The Great Game' have a woman's handwriting? It's a brilliantly thought-out idea, but it's utterly bonkers; it would be the most outlandish, incredible plot-twist to pull off, and it would confuse just about anyone who didn't really pay that much attention to Riley. It would the boldest television move ever if they went with it, but they just... won't. Sorry.
