4. Rich Brook Was Real

The Sherlock writers love a good twist. But whilst some plot twists are more obvious than others, it really would be incredible if Rich Brook turned out to really be an actor. What if Rich Brook killed himself on that rooftop so the real Moriarty could live? What if it really was all true? Whilst Kitty the journalist would then be a likely candidate for the real Moriarty, it could be anyone. It could pave the way for one of the most amazing criminal master-plans the world has ever seen: paying a man to act out your plans as insurance for if they don't work and returning in your real form is quite the curveball. Is anything too over-the-top for Sherlock though? And it would explain why Andrew Scott's performance is so mad in comparison to any other Moriarty depiction €“ it's because he's not really Moriarty, but an out-of-work children's TV presenter who's somehow been trained to be utterly unbreakable under torture.
