Sherlock: 7 Predictions For The Christmas Special

4. Mime Artist

#Setlock is the hashtag given to posts on social media of anything related to the filming of Sherlock episodes, an issue that€™s been discussed by the show€™s creators and stars and annoys as many fans as it pleases. They turn up at filming locations, take photos and post them online, and some of this content may be spoilerrific.

However, with so long between episodes, and the secrecy of Moffat and Mark Gatiss, it can also be a valuable resource for information. This was the case when, back in January, they turned up details of a casting call for the show.

This call was for mime artists and physical theatre specialists, which means we can expect these to be turning up in the special. How they€™ll fit into the story is less clear, although it would be appropriate for them to appear at Christmas.

It€™s a popular time for these sorts of entertaining acts, so it could be that they€™re off to see a Yuletide show, or that these are street performers putting on a performance to earn some cash at a busy time of year for shopping areas.

Another casting call also described a role for a male violinist, so it seems that Sherlock will once again be dusting off the violin in the special.
