16. The Wrong Thumb

Another of the cases that Sherlock speed-solves is the strange mystery of the missing thumb. We see him inspecting the detached digit before calling the client back, yelling "it's the wrong thumb!"

This is a quick, comedic take on Doyle story The Engineer's Thumb. In John's write-up for his blog that appears on screen, we find out that the unfortunate thumbless man was called Mr Hatherley. Just like the client in the original story - Victor Hatherley.
