9. Bart's Unpunished Behaviour
The rebellious Bart Simpson was always going to be responsible for one or two controversial incidents on this list, wasn't he? Famed for such catchphrases as "Eat my shorts" and for portraying disruptive behaviour while in school, the spikey-haired terror makes the lives of those around him a misery; chiefly schoolteacher Edna Krabappel and Moe Szyslak, the tortured bartender of whom Bart frequently prank calls. As funny as Bart's antics sometimes are, his misbehaviour has come in for criticism in the past, particularly as it largely goes unpunished. Parents see him as a poor role model for children, while educators claim Bart is a
"threat to learning" because of his "underachiever and proud of it" attitude. One could make the argument that Bart's unruly behaviour does not go unpunished, as flashforwards frequently portray him as a down-and-out character who has fallen on hard times.
