The Simpsons: 10 Greatest Deaths (So Far)

4. Shary Bobbins

In the 1997 episode €˜Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious€™, €œShary Bobbins€ is introduced as Bart and Lisa€™s new nanny when Marge realises she is balding with stress (little wonder when you're the mother of Bart). While James Blont was a parody of secret agent James Bond, €˜Shary€™ is an obvious spoof of Mary Poppins €“ the title character of a series of P. L. Travers€™ children€™s books, and is even shown to possess magical qualities, such as flying with an umbrella. Unfortunately, her magical qualities don't extend to transforming Bart and Lisa into model children, and though she tries to better the two by making them do chores, despairs over how useless and lazy they are and becomes upset. The Simpsons realise that they are happy the way they are, and don€™t need to change, and bid Shary goodbye as she flies off. Unaware to them, she flies into a jet engine and is shredded to death.
