The Simpsons: 12 Celebrity Voiceovers You May Have Missed

10. Ed Norton

EdwardnortonPlayed: Devon Bradley Episode: The Great Money Caper After the family enjoy dinner and a magic show, Bart becomes obsessed with magic and buys himself a magic kit. On the drive home, the car is damaged and Bart suggests performing magic to pay for the repairs, but his act doesn't make much money and Homer angrily drives home without him. Seeing his plight, people around him chip in to give Bart the money to get home. As Homer is driving home, he is passed by Bart enjoying a taxi ride and finds him eating a steak in the kitchen. They agree there's money to be made by grifting, including conning the residents of the Springfield Retirement Castle. As they're grifting the old folks, an FBI agent turns up and apprehends them, taking them to the police station where he says he'll let them turn themselves in for a more lenient sentence. Once Homer and Bart are inside, he reveals himself to be another (better) grifter, making off with the Simpson's car and all the money they grifted. Bart and Homer concoct a story where they were carjacked, and the description they give of the robber matches that of Groundskeeper Willie. Willie is sentenced, at which point Homer's conscience gets the better of him and he confesses it was all a lie. It turns out that everyone (except Willie) was in on the whole thing, and that the town wanted to teach Bart and Homer a lesson for grifting them. Ed Norton's character turns out to be a character actor, as well as a dancer and a singer - a triple threat! He doesn't get too many lines in this one, which is why some people might just have missed him in this, but it's a good episode that doesn't go too far down the surreal route that some other episodes of the time did. Norton has also appeared as another character, Reverend Elijah Hooper, in the episode Pulpit Fiction. Unfortunately I'm yet to see this one, so can't comment any further!

Simon Spowart hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
