The Simpsons: 12 Things You Missed If You Stopped Watching in 2000

12. Frank Grimes Has A Son - Who Wants Revenge

Remember Frank Grimes? The straight-shooting, hard worker who couldn't stand Homer's bumbling ways, who felt Homer lived in a mansion with a perfect family, and who eventually got himself killed while mocking the Simpson patriarch at the power plant, grabbing on to a live wire? Frank Grimes Jr. sure remembered him, and wanted revenge against the man who he blames for his father's death - Homer Simpson, of course. In 2002's "The Great Louse Detective" we find Sideshow Bob assisting Homer in uncovering just who is trying to kill him. It's one of the better episodes of the fourteenth season, and features Grimes Jr. as an auto mechanic looking to off Homer, who doesn't realize that his new mechanic is the son of his deceased former co-worker, despite Junior looking just like him. The best part - most of the audience didn't pick up on it either. We'd forgotten about Grimes, despite what a great character he was. If you stopped watching in 2000, you missed this one, which is a shame, because it's one of the few "follow-up" episodes that really pays off.
