The Simpsons: 20 Annoying Mistakes You Didn't Notice

6. Bart's Allergies

Bart has a number of allergies, from cauliflower and shrimp - as established in the episode "Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em" to butterscotch, imitation butterscotch and glow in the dark monster makeup - as stated in "Blood Feud." So you'd think he was a little less cavalier about eating any of them, which is disproven at the end of "The Frying Game" when he says that "I ate so much free shrimp," or that his mother would be particularly careful about exposing him to anything that might kill him, which she does in "A Milhouse Divided", when Marge reveals plans to cook her speciality of Butterscotch Chicken for Bart.

5. What's The Deal With Smithers?

No, not his sexuality: that's not up for debate. Instead, the issue here is his confession of love for Mr Burns, which happens at least twice, despite the fact that Burns reacts to each time as if it is a brand new revelation.

4. Desperate Moe Forgets Employing A Woman

In season 8 episode "The Homer They Fall" Moe says that no women have been to his bar since 1979, but back in the third season episode "Flaming Moe's," he hires a female waitress to help deal with the added custom that comes from his stealing Homer's cocktail recipe. And it's not the only women he seemingly forgets, as in "New Kid on the Block" and "Homer the Vigilante," Ruth Powers, the next-door neighbour of the Simpsons appears in the bar, even ordering a beer, while Marge goes to the bar in "Bart Gets Hit by A Car." Moe can perhaps be forgiven for forgetting Ruth, since the show has never really been clear on when she left the show: she apparently sold her house to Sideshow Bob in disguise and moved to Detroit (even though she appears at the party he hosts to celebrate moving in), and she has appeared as a Springfield resident since apparently leaving a couple of times.
