The Simpsons: 20 Awesome Easter Eggs And References

18. Wise Guy Bart

Episode: Bart The Murderer (S3, E4) The inspired Gangster-flick satire and the exploration of Bart€™s issues with authority figures make 'Bart the Murderer' a deserved fan favourite. Bart€™s young entry into the world of wise-guys, crime and whacking makes it no secret that the episode is intended to incorporate references to Goodfellas. However, what isn€™t widely known is that The Simpsons writers had conceived the idea of the episode before the release of Scorsese€™s seminal gangster film. As such, after the release of the 1990 film, the team rewrote the episode to incorporate the movie which was receiving so much attention at the time. The drawing of Bart was intended to directly replicate Henry showing his parents his new clothes. This episode was the debut of Fat Tony who was modelled after Paul Cicero in Goodfellas.
