Episode: Exit Through the Kwik-E-Mart (S23, E15) Those of you who have given up on the newer seasons of The Simpsons which are unanimously believed to be inferior to the show back in the 1990s and earlier 2000s have missed what could possibly be the greatest opening sequence in the history of the show. There are many things to love about Game of Thrones but without doubt one of the coolest things is the incredibly detailed title sequence. The award winning sequence pans across a three-dimensional map of George R. R. Martin's fantasy world. With all the attention the Game of Thrones opening was receiving, it was only a matter of time before Matt Groening and the boys did their take on it. The homage features the famous buildings of Springfield rising through the ground as the residents - clad in fantasy-style costumes - watch on.
