18. The Critic/Simpsons Crossover - "A Star Is Burns" (6.18)
Many felt that The Simpsons had its first real "jumping the shark" moment over the course of season six's "A Star Is Burns," an otherwise good episode that served as a crossover vehicle with another animated show, The Critic, which was created by former showrunners Al Jean and Mike Reiss. Given that most people felt that it was more of a marketing ploy than a creative embellishment, it was shocking to see such a beloved show lowering its standards.
