Smallville: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode

9. Santa Claus

Booster Gold Smallville
The CW

It would take a proper curmudgeon to take umbrage with seeing Santa Claus and Superman on the same screen together.

Sure, this particular Santa was a drunk, and this particular Superman was still in his formative not-quite-Super years, but it was a delight to see this two icons sharing some time in each other's company. Truth be told, the entire 'Lexmas' episode that this meeting occurs in is an absolute treat - with many viewing 'Lexmas' as one of the greatest episodes of Smallville, period.

Famously, 'Lexmas' saw Lex Luthor awake on Christmas Eve to an altered reality where he was one of the good guys. Of course, this play on A Christmas Carol of 'what could've been' all played out while Lex was actually in a coma, but elsewhere in the episode we saw Clark making friends with Kris Kringle.

A suicidal boozer who believed that the spirit of Christmas had been lost at the hands of consumerism, this Santa had his Christmas cheer returned courtesy of Clark Kent and Chloe Sullivan. And in a cool little twist, this Santa Claus was revealed to be the real Santa Claus - meaning that the magical, mystical Santa is canon in the world of Smallville!
