Sons Of Anarchy: 10 Best Episodes

4. A Mother's Work, Season 6, Episode 13

Anyone who has watched even one season of Sons of Anarchy knows that Gemma would walk through fire to help her son and stop anyone or anything from hurting him.

Although it's a commendable quality, it does mean she has a habit of shooting first and asking questions later. This can lead to some rather problematic situations, like when she bludgeoned Tara to death using a fork in the season six finale because she thought she was running away with her grandchildren.

A Mother's Work is a stand out episode because of the similarities and differences between the show's two strong female characters. Both are extremely protective of the men in their family, yet while Tara does everything in her power to get Abel and Thomas away from the violence that comes with being in the club, Gemma wants to keep them around it.

This episode is also a classic example of how twisty the show is. Just as we thought Jax and Tara were going to work things out Gemma takes matters into her own hands and kills her. Then just as we think Gemma is going to get hauled off to jail by Eli the Sheriff, Juice comes in and kills him too. You just never know what's going to happen.
