Sons Of Anarchy: 10 Best Episodes

2. Sovereign, Season 5, Episode 1

I'd like to think that when it comes to TV shows and movies, I rarely get affected by them emotionally and simply enjoy them for what they are. However, I couldn't help but feel traumatized after watching the season five premiere.

As fans have come to learn about this show, there are repercussions for everything a character does and we saw that when Tig was forced to pay the ultimate price for a drive-by shooting that killed drug lord Damon Pope's daughter in season four.

Sovereign is arguably the most powerful episode in the series, mostly because of Pope's introduction and how he got payback on Tig. Sons of Anarchy is known for not pulling punches, but Tig being forced to watch his daughter be burned alive on top of a mountain of dead bodies was one of the show's more harrowing scenes.

It really showed that the writers were willing to put characters in horrific, psychologically damaging situations that most people wouldn't be able to deal with so we can watch how they recover. Sovereign is definitely disturbing, but it's also full of great dialogue and wonderful acting too.
