5. Marcus Alvarez
Marcus Alvarez, President of the Mayans MC charter in Oakland, is the only supporting character to feature in the pilot, finale and all seven seasons in between.
The Mayans and the Sons have a long bloody history. Alvarez began the show as a primary antagonist in the first two seasons as he wanted the Mayans to be the biggest local gun dealers.
From season 3, however, the two motorcycle clubs form an unlikely alliance which sees the Sons provide protection for the Mayans' heroin shipments.
Alvarez also shows his compassionate family side when he agrees to play dead for 24 hours to try and save Tara's life.
The Mayans become a strong ally to Jax, offering protection to incarcerated members and back-up in hostile situations. They also alleviate some pressure from SAMCRO by picking up 100% of the hauling for the Galindo Cartel.
Marcus Alvarez proves to be a trustworthy asset and ally time and time again, earning his spot as a fan favourite.
The Mayans became so likeable that a spin-off named after the MC was launched in 2018 with Emilio Rivera reprising his role.
Now known as 'El Padrino', or 'The Godfather', fans are thrilled to see the Mayan boss back on their screens again.
