7. He Backed The Club's Relationship With The Galindo Cartel
The first two seasons of Sons of Anarchy in particular focused on Jax Teller trying to save the motorcycle club he loved so much. Clay had led them too deep into gun running and wars on the streets, and there was too much blood being spilled.
This was what John Teller tried to do before he died, and Jax was trying to fulfil his old man's wishes. However, after the situation in Belfast where Jax almost lost his first-born child, his priorities shifted to saving his family rather than his club. The deal he made with Clay was that he would help get the Sons in bed with the Galindo Cartel, so long as he could leave SAMCRO when his President did.
All this achieved, though, was putting his club and family in even more danger than before. Suddenly, they found themselves in the middle of a blood feud between Galindo and Lobo Sonora, two cartels who didn't care too much about collateral damage.
They were attacked by the latter just for their association with the former, Miles and Kozik were killed, and Armando, the President of SAMTAZ was beheaded. None of this would have happened without Jax's vote in favour of transporting the cartel's cocaine.
