6. He Started A War With Lin
From the moment Jax took the gavel and the President's flash, he made moves to get the club into more legitimate business and lawful ways to earn. However, taking the club out of guns wasn't simply as straight forward as leaving the Irish without first setting them up with another distributor.
The plan at the time was for Clay to take over their distribution in Northern California, but when Galen killed one of Henry Lin's crew, injuring Lin himself at the same time to prove a point to one of the Sons' biggest customers, he put the two factions at odds with each other.
Henry's uncle wanted retribution and demanded Connor Malone, since Galen had since been killed. As a show to Connor of the benefits of being in business with August Marks, Jax had the Niners slaughter Lin's uncle and his entire crew. This was a huge step towards bringing Marks and the Real IRA together, thus allowing the Sons to step away, but would eventually burn the club down the road.
This ultimately started a war between the Chinese and the Sons of Anarchy, allowing Gemma the opportunity to blame Tara's murder on the former, forcing the hate and the violence to go even deeper. Lin and his crew fought back against the Sons by attacking their new legitimate businesses, killing Colette and West along the way, with the war eventually leading to August Marks shooting Bobby dead.
