Sons Of Anarchy: 12 Characters Everyone's Glad Survived

2. Wendy

Wendy came a long way from her days as a pregnant drug addict. After losing Jax to Tara and her chance to be a mother to Abel in season one, Wendy exited the picture, an absence that extended all the way through to the show's fourth season. Upon her rehabilitated return late in season four and through the course of season five, Wendy struck with a vengeance, attempting to take on Tara and Jax over Abel without a whole lot of necessary tact, a decision that ended with Jax shooting her up with drugs, effectively robbing her of her only stable card against them. By the end of that season and throughout the sixth, Wendy readjusted her approach, working with Tara to gain herself custody of the boys in the event of Tara being sent to prison and get them out of Charming, away from Gemma and the reality of life around the club. In the wake of Tara's murder, Wendy stepped up to help take care of the boys, with Jax ultimately deciding to reveal to Abel that Wendy was his real mother. Upon Jax's request, Wendy later went on to take the boys with Nero to the farm, oblivious to Jax's suicidal plans and unaware that, with his death, money from the sale of his house and the garage would go to her to help give her and the boys the chance at a new start. In many ways, Wendy grew up over the course of the show from a character you wanted out of Jax's life to one who more than deserved the chance to step into her role as mother. With Tara gone and no happy ending destined for the boys in a Charming life with the human poison that was Gemma, Wendy was easily the best candidate to get them out, finally honoring Tara's wishes and fulfilling Jax's fruitless promises to his late wife. Wendy may have started off the show as a character you couldn't wait to see leave, but her evolution turned her into a character you're glad stuck around.
