Sons Of Anarchy 7.6 Review - 5 Talking Points From "Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em"

5. New Alliances Are Forged

The relationship between the Sons and the Mayans has always been volatile, bouncing back and forth between arch-enemies and uneasy business partners countless times over the course of the show€™s seven seasons. Just when it appeared that we were building to an eruption between the two crews, another truce is reached via some creative manoeuvring and lucrative promises. In one episode we€™ve gone from SAMCRO, with the Grim B*stards as backup and tenuous arrangements with the Aryans and the One Niners, facing off against the Chinese Triad, who had the Mayans as support, to basically the entire dissolution of the Triad and the Mayans back in the Sons€™ corner. Jax€™s biggest strength as club president has always been his ability to appease the various hands reaching for a piece of the illegal trade pie, when seemingly no agreeable solution was fathomable. It appears he€™s done it once again, by fortifying an alliance with the Mayans while making up for the burned bridge with the AB. As we saw when the East Dub members were gunned down, SAMCRO, the Grim B*stards and the Mayans are all fully on the same page when it comes to eradicating August Marks€™ empire, and that looks like a very bad thing for the man who stepped in to fill Damon Pope€™s shoes.
