Galen O'Shay was a ruthless authority figure within the Real IRA organisation, and was utterly cut-throat when it came to business. Naturally, he disagreed with the Sons' plans to get out of guns, and he demanded his business be doubled as compensation.

Essentially, he couldn't care less what the Sons wanted, he was going to make sure he got his way, regardless of how many people he had to kill. He more than backed up his no nonsense attitude with his shoot first, ask questions later philosophy.

This led to him killing Phil and V-Lin, and in a show of power to the Italians, he attacked Lin's crew. This kick-started the war between the Sons and the Chinese, and Galen simply didn't care. He had solidified an order, and to hell with the consequences.

Along with the other Irish Kings, Galen tried to have the club, and everyone they cared about killed by a bomb, simply because Jax suggested August Marks as a business partner. Had Jax not have figured out what was happening just seconds before the bomb went off, SAMCRO would have been completely wiped out by Galen without so much as a second thought.
