Sons Of Anarchy: Every SAMCRO Member's Death Ranked From Worst To Best
3. Clay Morrow
There were so many reasons Clay Morrow needed to die, and there were equally as many opportunities for it to happen. However, while Jax wanted the man who killed his father dead, things just kept getting in the way.
Whether he needed him to facilitate deals with the Irish, or the Mayhem vote being kept from unanimous by Bobby, certain things kept Clay alive for longer than expected. As part of Jax getting the Sons out of running the IRA's guns, Galen looked instead to use Clay as his distributor. This was the only way the MC could get out clean, without some sort of retribution from the Kings, though Jax and co. found a way around it.
When Clay was being transported to his trial, the plan was for the Sons to break him free and bring him to Galen. They would both flee to Belfast and have a long and happy business venture together. However, when they got to Galen, Jax put a bullet in his head.
Immediately, it was obvious that Clay was next. Galen was the only reason that Clay was being kept alive, and with him dead, and a second, this time unanimous Mayhem vote having already been taken, Jax was able to shoot his step-dad in the throat and watch him bleed to death.
