10. Filthy Phil

Though Phil ultimately graduated from being a prospect to a fully patched member of the Sons of Anarchy, he never truly felt like a brother. He was still bossed around by the others, and had very little to say at the table, making little, if any, real impact on the club.

His death, however, was a defining chapter in the ongoing struggle for power between Jax Teller and Galen O'Shay. The SAMCRO President was trying to move his club out of their relationship with the Real IRA, something which Galen didn't take too kindly to.

He demanded the Sons take two extra cases of guns after the school shooting to take advantage of the fear, he reluctantly accepted that the IRA business would be moved to Southern California but ordered that the sales be doubled, and he just straight up didn't like Jax to begin with.

All this led to Galen sending a powerful message to his business partner. This came with the theft of the Sons' guns, all except the two cases he told them to take, and the murder of Phil and the prospect, V-Lin. Phil just so happened to be the guard at the warehouse when Galen arrived, so he was the one the Irishman murdered and carved up.
