2. Decide What To Do With Clay
I think I'm one of the few who actually wants Clay to live, at least until the series ends. Had he been killed at the end of season four, or even if he had met Mr. Reaper in season five I just don't think that the show would really be the same. After losing the seat at the head of table to Jax he became a sort of shadowy figure operating off the grid to win back his spot at the table in season five. This last season also showed the first real evolution of Clay as a character by making him weak and feeble, both physically and psychologically. But wait! Turns out he was given the okay to come off of the oxygen tank, and has been faking it! I was really enjoying finally getting to see a much more vulnerable side to Clay in his weakened state. Even though he prolonged his condition to try and deceive the club to hide his own agenda, and win the sympathy of certain members, eventually a bond starting developing between the former club president and resident butt-of-the-joke Juice. It was one of the finer points of season five because we got to see each of the characters explore areas we had never seen either of them go. Juice ended up very conflicted about where to lay his loyalties, eventually siding (too late) with Clay by trying to get him to take his bike and skip town to avoid the frame that was set up by Jax. So where do we go with Clay in season six? He's been excommunicated from the club and is on his way to prison for a crime that he didn't commit, and which will lead to him being in the crosshairs of Damon Pope's crew. Will we see more of the wounded and defeated former King, or will it be more of the unapologetic sociopath? Sutter did a great job of actually making viewers feel bad for Clay as we watched him realize that both Gemma and Juice were in Jax's plot. Even his former right hand man Tig coldly responded "Yeah" when Jax asked him if was okay with sending Damon Pope's hit squad after Clay. The one person still on his side might be Bobby, as he was seen turning in his VP patch at the end of season five, but he could just be exhausted with SAMCRO as a whole.
