South Park: 10 Times Eric Cartman Got What He Deserved

4. Token And Butters Humiliate Cartman

Episode: Christian Rock Hard (Season 7, Episode 9)

We all know that Eric Cartman will go to extreme lengths for anything, even if it’s just for the sake of a small amount of money. After starting a band called Moop with his friends, Cartman makes a bet with Kyle of $10 that he could make a platinum-selling Christian Rock album before Kyle does.

He ditches Moop and manages to convince Butters and the very reluctant Token to be part of his Christian band, under the promise that they’ll make billions off of the religious followers. Cartman especially treats Token badly but he hesitantly sticks with it because of the potential riches.

To Cartman’s credit, his band is very successful and it seems as though he really will win the bet against Kyle. At an award’s ceremony in front of several Christians, Cartman is ready to accept his platinum album but finds out in the industry of Christian rock, bands can only receive Myrrh albums, making it logistically impossible to ever receive a platinum one.

Enraged at losing a bet, Cartman yells blasphemous remarks in front of the Christian crowds, causing them to flee. Token is infuriated at the loss of the crowd and Cartman’s angry, bigoted response is the final straw for Token who violently assaults Cartman and leaves the stage.

Here’s the ultimate icing on the cake: Butters is left alone with Cartman, looking very sheepish and nervous. As an audience, we’ve only known his character to be harmless and mild-mannered so it’s assumed he’ll go to comfort Eric. In reality, he farts in Cartman’s face and flips him off. Nice one, Mr Stotch!
