South Park: 15 Greatest Ever Episodes
4. Cartman Finds Love
Season 16 Episode 7 Character of the WeekCartman's Cupid Me is an absurd creation. He is the personification of Cartman's busy-bodying, getting into other people's lives and making sure that they get together with people of their own race. He is proof that Cartman seems to believe that he is not only right but doing God's work in keeping racial purity. A disturbing insight into the young man's mind...
Cartman's Wisdom Love is like taking a dump, Butters. sometimes it works itself out but, sometimes you have to give it a nice hard slimy push. Notions Tarnished The idea that people of the same ethnicities should be together. I'm not sure if this is a big issue in the modern world but this episode plays around with the idea. Rather than concluding the episode with the predictable political left's answer to the question of whether they should the episode concludes with the two African-American children getting together because they genuinely like each-other, not staying apart to make a point that they don't have to be with someone who is also black. Why This Episode Is So Good It's a dark time for South Park at the moment. The creators are 16 seasons in and understandably it's not as fresh as it once was. Watching through Series 16 I was disappointed with the output of the show, not because it's awful but episode after episode failed to be completely hilarious or even particularly political. I think it is for this reason that this episode rates so high for me at least. In amongst the mediocrity came 'Cartman Finds Love', an episode with a title so good it couldn't fail to deliver. And deliver it does. Filled with social commentary and a few hilarious jokes this one is a classic.
