1. Butters Stotch
'Oh geez, I don't wanna get the AIDS fellas.'
It's true that nowadays Butters is probably more of a main character than a supporting one, as he features in most episodes. But believe it or not, Butters was actually in the very first episode of South Park as a background character. Since then, he has slowly been worming his way into our hearts, as the naive young boy who regularly gets taken advantage of by the other characters. Butters is sweet and kind, someone that probably shouldn't exist in South Park, and part of his charm is watching him react to the disgusting antics of everyone else. As a friend of the boys, Butters has been deceived by Cartman who masqueraded as a robot, he has taken a ninja star in the eye and then been dressed up like a dog, and he has been forced to dress as Courtney Love Hewitt in order to take some incriminating photos. Butters is definitely the butt of the joke most of the time, but you can't help feeling sorry for the little guy.
